Does Apple Cider Vinegar help remove plaque, tartar, and clean Teeth?

In short, Yes it can.

Apple Cider Vinegar is naturally made from fermented Apple Juice. It is very popular for it’s health benefits throughout the natural health community. Many use it for weight loss, to promote shiny hair, reduce high blood pressure, prevent yeast infection, reduce blood cholesterol, relief against indigestion, and for many other wonderful health benefits.

Apple Cider Vinegar is also popular for fighting bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Whereby it is used by many to freshen their mouth and clean their teeth.

Coincidentally, my molar tooth fell out of my mouth the other week. Although the experience wasn’t painful as I would have imagined. All I felt was an unexpected large tooth in my mouth after drinking Almond Milk. And after examining the tooth, it was clear from the roots of the tooth that plaque and tartar had managed to form deep below the gumline over the past years.

But before disposing my tooth, I was curious about what natural chemicals could be used to clean the tooth.

The first thing I tried was a tooth brush with regular tooth paste. After brushing the same side of the tooth for one minute, it was clear that the tartar buildup was not going to come off.

Then I tried using a tooth scraper which still could not dislodge the tartar that was seemingly glued to the surface of the tooth.

The next thing I tried was isopropyl alcohol. After trying to scrape off the tartar for one minute, I gave up defeated once again.

Finally, I used Apple Cider Vinegar. After submerging the tooth for 2 minutes in Apple Cider Vinegar, I began to try to scrape off the tartar. Interestingly, I was able to chip off tiny bits of tartar from the surface of the tooth!

Then I tried submerging the tooth for 15 minutes in Apple Cider Vinegar. And after working the tooth scraper all over the surface of the tooth, I managed to remove at least 80% of the tartar buildup.

Relieved from the success, I decided to try leaving the tooth submerged in Apple Cider Vinegar for more than 3 hours. Unfortunately, the extended duration did not make the scraping job any easier. The tartar buildup remained firm against the tooth as if it was submerged for only 15 minutes.

Nonetheless, my curiosity and experiment demonstrated that Apple Cider Vinegar can be used to loosen plaque and tartar from the surface of the tooth. While further cleaning with Apple Cider Vinegar alone, helped leave the tooth shiny and squeaky clean.
